\u00d6z:<\/strong> Bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma, 2026 y\u0131l\u0131nda yay\u0131mlanan ve 2004\u20132016 y\u0131llar\u0131 aras\u0131nda Aigai kaz\u0131lar\u0131nda bulunan sikkeleri konu edinen Aigai Sikkeleri<\/em> ba\u015fl\u0131kl\u0131 eseri numismatik y\u00f6ntem a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan ele\u015ftirel bir g\u00f6zle ele almaktad\u0131r. Eserde, kaz\u0131larda bulunan toplam 1520 sikkeden k\u00f6t\u00fc durumdaki 400’\u00fc d\u0131\u015f\u0131nda kalan 1120 sikke katalo\u011fa al\u0131nm\u0131\u015f ve de\u011ferlendirilmi\u015ftir. Ancak bu de\u011ferlendirme numismatik y\u00f6ntem a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan hatal\u0131 ve yeter\u00adsizdir. Eserde kaz\u0131 sikkelerine ili\u015fkin yaln\u0131zca tan\u0131t\u0131c\u0131 bilgiler ve istatistiksel veriler tablo ve listeler e\u015fli\u00ad\u011finde sunulmu\u015f, bunlara Aigai kent sikkelerine ili\u015fkin genel bilgiler eklenmi\u015ftir. Sikkeler yaln\u0131zca genel bilgiler \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131nda de\u011ferlendirilmi\u015f, buluntu yerleri ve kaz\u0131 ba\u011flam\u0131 hesaba kat\u0131lmam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Definelerle ilgili olarak ise yaln\u0131zca bilgi verilmi\u015f, defineler ayr\u0131ca de\u011ferlendirilmek yerine katalo\u011fa d\u00e2hil edilerek ba\u011flamlar\u0131ndan kopar\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Esasen b\u00fct\u00fcn bunlar, \u201csikkelerin tan\u0131t\u0131lmas\u0131 ve istatistiksel verilerinin sunul\u00admas\u0131<\/em>\u201d \u015feklinde \u00f6zetlenen \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma amac\u0131yla uyumludur. Ne var ki kaz\u0131 sikkelerini ele alan bir \u00e7al\u0131\u015fman\u0131n, sikkeleri yaln\u0131zca te\u015fhis edip tan\u0131mlamakla kalmay\u0131p arkeolojik ve tarihsel ba\u011flamlar\u0131 i\u00e7inde de\u011ferlen\u00addirmesi ve b\u00f6ylece bulunduklar\u0131 kentin sosyal, k\u00fclt\u00fcrel ve ekonomik tarihine \u0131\u015f\u0131k tutmas\u0131 beklenir. Bu eser ise b\u00fct\u00fcn bunlar\u0131 g\u00f6z ard\u0131 etti\u011fi i\u00e7in salt bir katalog olman\u0131n \u00f6tesine ge\u00e7ememi\u015ftir.<\/p>\n

Abstract:<\/strong> This study critically examines, from the standpoint of numismatic method, the work entitled Aigai Sikkeleri<\/em> (Coins of Aigai<\/em>), published in 2026, which presents the coins found during the excavations at Aigai between 2004 and 2016. Of the 1,520 coins recovered, 1,120 were catalogued and evaluated, while the remaining 400 were excluded because of their poor condition. This evaluation, however, is flawed and inadequate in terms of numismatic method. The work provides only descriptive information and statistical data on the excavation coins, presented in tables and lists, supplemented by general informa\u00adtion on the coinage of Aigai. The coins are assessed only in general terms, and their find spots and exca\u00advation contexts are not taken into account. The hoards are merely described; rather than being evaluated separately, they are incorporated into the catalogue and thus removed from their context. All of this is, in fact, consistent with the stated aim of the study, which may be summarized as \u201cintroducing the coins and providing statistical information about them<\/em>\u201d. A study of excavation coins, however, is expected not only to identify and describe the coins but also to evaluate them within their archaeological and historical context, and thereby to shed light on the social, cultural, and economic history of the city in which they were found. By disregarding these aspects, the work does not go beyond a mere catalogue.<\/p>\n
