Abstract:<\/strong> The region bordered by Korakesion (Alanya) to the west, Alexandreia Kat\u2019Isson (\u0130skenderun) to the east, the Taurus Mountains to the north and the Mediterranean to the south was called Cilicia in antiquity. Magarsus was a port city established in the plain part of this region. During the excavations of the Roman theater of this city, 23 stamped amphora handles and one stamped amphora base were found. These are classified as from Rhodes, Rhodian Peraea, Knidos and Chios. The origin of only one example (a stamped base) can not be determined. Among these finds, the majority are the Rhodian amphora stamps. This is due to Rhodes\u2019 intense commercial relations with centers within the Eastern Mediterra\u00adnean geography. It has been determined that a similar situation exists in other cities of Cilicia. The number of other amphora stamps from Magarsus is as follows: one from the Rhodian Peraea, one from Knidos and one from Chios. It has been seen that the amphora stamps found in Magarsus generally date to different phases of the Hellenistic period. These archaeological finds, providing epigraphic evidence, provide some information about the maritime trade of Magarsus during the Hellenistic Period. The amphora stamps examined in this article were carried or dragged into the Roman theatre of Magarsus. The stamped handles were found concentrated in the cavea and stage sections of the theatre and, in consequence these stamped handles do not come from any safe stratigraphy.<\/p>\n

Sadece bir \u00f6rne\u011fin k\u00f6keni ise belirlenememi\u015ftir. Buluntular ara\u00ads\u0131nda say\u0131sal olarak Rhodos amphora m\u00fch\u00fcrleri \u00f6n plandad\u0131r. Bu durum, Rhodos\u2019un Do\u011fu Akdeniz co\u011f\u00adrafyas\u0131nda yer alan merkezlerle yo\u011fun ticari ili\u015fkileri ile ba\u011flant\u0131l\u0131d\u0131r. Kilikia\u2019n\u0131n di\u011fer kentlerinde de benzer bir durumun s\u00f6z konusu oldu\u011fu belirlenmi\u015ftir. Magarsus\u2019taki di\u011fer amphora m\u00fch\u00fcrlerinin say\u0131s\u0131 \u015fu \u015fekil\u00addedir: Bir adet Rhodos Peraias\u0131, bir adet Knidos ve bir adet de Khios. Magarsus\u2019ta bulunan amphora m\u00fc\u00adh\u00fcrlerinin genel olarak Hellenistik D\u00f6nem\u2019in farkl\u0131 evrelerine tarihlendi\u011fi tespit edilmi\u015ftir. Epigrafik kan\u0131t niteli\u011finde olan bu arkeolojik buluntular, Magarsus\u2019un Hellenistik D\u00f6nem deniz ticareti ile ilgili baz\u0131 bilgi\u00adler aktarmaktad\u0131r. Bu makalede incelenen amphora m\u00fch\u00fcrleri, Magarsus Roma tiyatrosunun i\u00e7ine ta\u015f\u0131nm\u0131\u015f ya da s\u00fcr\u00fcklenmi\u015ftir. M\u00fch\u00fcrl\u00fc kulplar, tiyatronun cavea ve sahne k\u0131s\u0131mlar\u0131nda yo\u011funla\u015fmaktad\u0131r. Sonu\u00e7 olarak m\u00fch\u00fcrl\u00fc kulplar, g\u00fcvenli bir stratigrafik tabakadan gelmemektedir.<\/p>\n
