Abstract:<\/strong> There has been very little study of Yalova and its surroundings since the excavations carried on in the 1930\u2019s. Besides the small rescue excavations carried out by Museums, there are archaeological mate\u00adrials gathered through construction activities and even from the earthquake and \u201cgrave stelae\u201d are among them. \u201cGrave Stelae with Altar\u201d form a unique local and distinctive group among these stelae. There is a typical iconographical pattern to be noticed among these examples, as the entire group decorated with the popular theme of \u201cthe funeral feast\u201d. There are inscriptions on seven of these stelae. Epigraphically, there is also a common language. The finds suggest the use of these stelae, eleven represented in this paper, was limited to within the region of Yalova. Although, unfortunately, the lack of studies prevents the localization of production, for now, it is possible to suggest from literary sources that these stelae should have been produced in Pylai.<\/p>\n

\u00d6z:<\/strong> Yalova ve \u00e7evresinde 1930\u2019lu y\u0131llarda yap\u0131lan bilimsel kaz\u0131lar\u0131n ard\u0131ndan g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fcze kadar az say\u0131da ara\u015f\u00adt\u0131rma ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirilmi\u015ftir. M\u00fczeler taraf\u0131ndan yap\u0131lan k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck \u00e7apl\u0131 kaz\u0131lar\u0131n yan\u0131 s\u0131ra, deprem, in\u015faat gibi olay\u00adlar sayesinde ele ge\u00e7en arkeolojik materyaller i\u00e7erisinde mezar stelleri de bulunmaktad\u0131r. Bunlar\u0131n aras\u0131nda \u201csunakl\u0131 mezar steli\u201d olarak adland\u0131r\u0131lan bir grup stel b\u00f6lgeye \u00f6zg\u00fc bir mimari form olarak kar\u015f\u0131m\u0131za \u00e7\u0131kmak\u00adtad\u0131r. Bu \u00f6zg\u00fcn mimari formunun yan\u0131 s\u0131ra stellerde ortak bir ikonografi tercihi de g\u00f6ze \u00e7arpmaktad\u0131r. Ta\u00admam\u0131nda antik\u00e7a\u011f\u0131n sevilen temalar\u0131ndan \u00f6l\u00fc ziyafeti konusu i\u015flenmi\u015ftir. Bu stellerden yedi tanesi, \u00fczerinde yaz\u0131tlar\u0131 ile ele ge\u00e7mi\u015ftir. Epigrafik a\u00e7\u0131dan ele al\u0131nd\u0131\u011f\u0131nda da steller \u00fczerinde ortak bir dilin varl\u0131\u011f\u0131 g\u00f6zlemle\u00adnebilmektedir. Bulgular, bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmada on bir adet ile temsil edilen bu stellerin kullan\u0131m alan\u0131n\u0131n yaln\u0131zca Yalova ve \u00e7evresiyle s\u0131n\u0131rl\u0131 kald\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 g\u00f6stermektedir. Ne yaz\u0131k ki b\u00f6lgedeki \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n azl\u0131\u011f\u0131 tam \u00fcretim ye\u00adrinin tespitini engellemektedir. Bununla birlikte \u015fimdilik bu mezar stellerini \u00fcreten merkezin, varl\u0131\u011f\u0131 yaz\u0131l\u0131 verilerle belirlenebilen Pylai yerle\u015fiminin olabilece\u011fi \u00f6neril\u00admektedir.<\/p>\n
