Binde Do\u011fu Trakya\u201d ba\u015fl\u0131kl\u0131 \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmad\u0131r. Kitap yazar\u0131n 2016 y\u0131l\u0131nda tamamlad\u0131\u011f\u0131 Doktora \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131n yay\u0131mlanm\u0131\u015f halidir. S\u00f6z konusu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma \u00f6ncelikle ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131n g\u00f6rece az oldu\u011fu ve bu nedenle az bilinen bir b\u00f6lgeye dair oldu\u011fundan ayr\u0131 bir \u00f6nem te\u015fkil etmektedir. Kitab\u0131n temelini y\u00fczey ara\u015ft\u0131rmas\u0131 y\u00f6ntemi ile elde edilen veriler olu\u015fturmakta olup, s\u00f6z konusu veriler kapsaml\u0131 ve detayl\u0131 bir bi\u00e7imde ele al\u0131nm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Ancak verilerin sunulmas\u0131nda ve yorumlanmas\u0131nda baz\u0131 temel yay\u0131nlar\u0131n kullan\u0131lmam\u0131\u015f olmas\u0131, kullan\u0131lan baz\u0131 kaynaklar\u0131n ise k\u0131smen g\u00fcncel olmamas\u0131 birtak\u0131m sorunlar\u0131 beraberinde getirmi\u015ftir. Kitab\u0131n \u00f6nemli eksiklerinden biri b\u00f6lgeyi \u00f6zg\u00fcn k\u0131lan niteliklerinin maddi k\u00fclt\u00fcr\u00fcn eksik de\u011ferlendirilmesi ve yerle\u015fim sistemlerinin do\u011fru yorumlanmamas\u0131 sonucu vurgulanmam\u0131\u015f ve \u00fczerinde durulmam\u0131\u015f olmas\u0131d\u0131r. Bununla beraber yine b\u00f6lge\u00adnin arkeolojisi a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan \u00f6nem ta\u015f\u0131yan g\u00fcncel tart\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n ve yakla\u015f\u0131mlar\u0131n konu al\u0131nmamas\u0131 kitab\u0131n bilim\u00adsel a\u00e7\u0131dan daha fazla desteklenme ihtiyac\u0131n\u0131 ortaya \u00e7\u0131karmaktad\u0131r.<\/p>\n

Abstract:<\/strong> The book by E. Karaca entitled: \u201cEastern Thrace in the 1st<\/sup> Millennium B.C.\u201d reviewed in this article was published in 2019 and is the published version of the author\u2019s doctoral thesis completed in 2016. The study has a particular importance because it concerns a region which is relatively unknown and where research is relatively scarce. The basis of this book is the data obtained through the survey method which is discussed in a comprehensive and detailed way. However, not utilizing some basic publications in presenting and interpreting the data and employing partially up to date sources has resulted in some problems. One of the important short\u00adcomings of the work is that the characteristics that make the region unique, its material culture and its settle\u00adment systems have not been emphasized and underlined in consequence of their not being interpreted cor\u00adrectly. In addition, the current debates and approaches that are important for regional archeology have not been discussed, which makes the book scientifically inadequate.<\/p>\n
