S\u00f6z konusu yaz\u0131t, lahdin kapa\u011f\u0131nda ve lahdin bir k\u0131sm\u0131 tahrip edilmi\u015f tabula ansata<\/em>\u2019s\u0131 \u00fczerinde yer almaktad\u0131r. Mezar sahibi Euelthon o\u011flu Aurelius Moles adl\u0131 bir ki\u015fidir ve mezar\u0131 II. Enteimos o\u011flu M. Aurelius Krateros\u2019un ba\u015frahipli\u011fi s\u0131ras\u0131nda sat\u0131n alm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Moles ve Enteimos isimleri kentte \u015fimdiye kadar kay\u0131t alt\u0131na al\u0131nmam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Yaz\u0131t, \u201cAurelius\/Aurelia\u201d gens<\/em> isimleri ve harf karakterleri dolay\u0131s\u0131yla MS III. y\u00fczy\u0131l civar\u0131na tarihlendirmek m\u00fcmk\u00fcnd\u00fcr.<\/p>\n

Abstract:<\/strong> This paper presents a new Greek epitaph which was found during the epigraphical survey conducted within the scope of the Xanthus Excavations 2014. The inscription in question is written on the lid and on the damaged tabula ansata<\/em> of the sarcophagus. The grave owner is Aurelius Moles, son of Euelthon who purchased the grave during the priesthood of M. Aurelius Krateros, the son of Enteimos II. The names Moles and Enteimos have not been recorded in the city so far. The inscription is dated to the IIIrd<\/sup> century AD based on gens<\/em> \u201cAurelius\/Aurelia\u201d and character of the letters.<\/p>\n
